About Co-op:

To apply for the co-op stream, students initially apply to the non-co-op program. Admission depends on labor market conditions, with an 80% average requirement in Year 1. International students need work permits for co-op job access, and there are no fee refunds after the withdrawal date. Continuing without a work permit is at the student’s risk, and concerns should be discussed with the co-op advisor early on.

Program Device Requirements

All students entering this program must: have a laptop computer that meets minimum specified requirements own and maintain their laptop bring their laptop on the first day of classes.

Domestic Applicants:

Domestic applicants with transcripts from non-Canadian educational institutions must have their documents evaluated for equivalency by an approved credential evaluation service. Applicants to this program need a Comprehensive or Course-by-Course Report.

Language requirements:

Applicants with degrees/diplomas from non-English instruction institutions must provide English proficiency scores (e.g., TOEFL iBT 88, IELTS 6.5, CAEL 70, PTE Academic 58, CELT Band 6, Cambridge Exams 180, or equivalent). For students below English admission standards, a language program is available. Admission to the degree program requires completing ELS level 4 with an 80% average and no grade below 75%, assessed by in-house tests or TOEFL/IELTS scores.

Admission Requirements

To qualify for admission, candidates need a B-grade or higher in an Ontario College diploma, advanced diploma, degree, or equivalent, assessed to Ontario standards, in fields such as computer science, software engineering, or IT innovation. Alternatively, a B-grade or higher in a relevant graduate certificate, such as computer applications development or mobile solutions development, is accepted. Other disciplines with substantial software development in their curriculum, like health informatics, may also be considered with a B-grade or higher. The overall average grade requirement applies to the specified academic program(s).
