The Applied Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning program, optionally offering co-op, meets industry demands for skilled software developers in machine learning applications. Focused on artificial intelligence algorithms and computer science, the curriculum teaches the design of technology stacks for advanced data acquisition and analysis. Real-world projects, guided by Conestoga’s experienced faculty, enhance software development skills. The program serves as a foundation for addressing emerging industry challenges and creating automated workflows, business intelligence applications, and smart manufacturing initiatives.
Optional Co-op: Admission depends on achieving an 80% average in Level 1, and co-op seats vary based on labor market conditions. International students need work permits, facing longer wait times. All students entering this program must: have a laptop computer that meets minimum specified requirements own and maintain their laptop bring their laptop on the first day of classes.
The admission requirements for this program include a three-year or longer diploma or degree from an accredited college or university in the field of computer science and/or software engineering. Alternatively, candidates with three to five years of relevant full-time work experience in software development are also eligible. The ranking of applicants will be determined through an assessment of academic performance, the duration and level of the degree/diploma, as well as the discipline of the degree/diploma.
Non-English degree holders need TOEFL iBT 88 (no skill below 22), IELTS 6.5 (no bands below 6.0), CAEL 70 (no sub-test below 60), PTE Academic 58, CELT Band 6, Cambridge Exams 180 (no score below 170), or equivalent. A language program is available for those below standards. Completing ELS level 4 with 80% average and no grade below 75% allows admission to the degree program, placement determined by in-house or TOEFL/IELTS scores.
Domestic applicants with non-Canadian transcripts must get them evaluated by an approved credential evaluation service for equivalency.
